Dynamically Generated Product Catalog for Venture Industries
A twenty-one page technical catalog for the AFC axial duct fan range — product pages, nominal data, performance curves, dimensions and accessories, all generated from the product database.
About this catalog
Venture Industries publishes a technical catalog for every fan range it sells. Each of them used to be a design file — a specification changed, somebody carried the new figure into a spreadsheet, then into the layout, then re-exported the PDF, and the website and the selection program were updated separately or forgotten.
The AFC catalog is now an output of the product database. Descriptions, photography, nominal data, performance curves, dimension tables and accessory compatibility are all read from the same records that feed the website and the fan selection program at programdoboru.pl. Nothing in the document is typed twice, and nothing is drawn by hand.
What comes out is twenty-one pages covering sixty-eight models:
- 1Product introduction, applications and construction
- 7Related products, each with its QR code
- 2Nominal data tables, split by motor type
- 2Product-family performance charts
- 49Individual model curves across twelve pages
- 1Dimension drawing with per-model tables
- 1Mounting accessories with compatibility
- 2Electrical accessory pages, single and three-phase
Every fragment below is from that published document.
A closer look
Product introduction page
The opening page of a series: name and product type, main photograph, application, construction and motor descriptions, optional configurations and certifications — assembled from structured content, so a rewritten description never means a rebuilt layout.
Product photography
Images held in the media library are already pinned to the product they belong to, so detail shots, alternative views and installation images drop into the same grid on every series in the range.
Related products and QR codes
The EC version, the high-temperature version, the belt drive, the wall version, the ATEX version — seven of them, each with its image, short description and a QR code to the live product page. The printed catalog becomes a way into the rest of the range.
Nominal data tables
Airflow, pressure, speed, voltage, current, motor power, sound level, weight and article number for sixty-eight models, split by motor type. Every figure is read from the product record, so correcting a value once puts it into the next generated catalog.
Product-family performance charts
The operating range of every two-pole model on one set of axes, and the four-pole models on the next page. An engineer sees at a glance what the series can cover, drawn from the same measured points the selection software calculates on.
Individual performance curves
Forty-nine models, each with its own chart across twelve pages: static pressure, absorbed power, nominal operating data and operating limits. Preparing these by hand is the single biggest cost in a technical catalog, and here it does not happen at all.
Dimensions
One drawing serves the whole family while the table below it is generated per model — A, B, C and D measurements, flange diameters, hole counts and mounting dimensions. The letters on the drawing and the columns in the table always agree, because both come from the same record.
